I am currently doing final touches and compositing of my design bible. Along the way I have digitised some of my previous designs in order to refine them and show design progress.
Today we animated a person throwing a ball using straight ahead animation. This means there were no key frames, just drawing frame by frame. I was quite happy with the timing of this, which is what I focused on. However I was not so happy with the actual movement of the figure's body. The throwing arm is ok but the connected movements do not work as well. I am aware figures is something that I need to work on.
The animation we are currently working on in class is using a Charlie Chaplin section as reference. So far we have only put the extremes in, however I feel that this is already starting to look as it should, just lacking easing and some of the finer movements.
This is the animated 2D turn around for Ellie. As with Pugwash it wasn't possible to do a 360 degree turn around, so here is an animated 2D turn around.
