Analogue sculpting 11/04/19

Today we went into our models and carefully added subtle details as well as ears. These had to be left until last due to their delicacy. These photos were before I did any work on the ears. I then went back and added to them. I'm very happy with the overall outcome from this process. Although this isn't finished, I'm hoping to work on this more prior to submission. This is, however, our last class with Alan. I have really enjoyed this process and definitely want to model more.

Today was increasing the level of detail within the sculpture. This means that there isnt a drastic change, but the structures are definitely stronger now.

These week we were starting to put in the finer details on our sculptures. I’m very happy with how my chap is coming along so far.

This week was more of adding more structural blocking to the face. We also set in the eyes.  I am really enjoying these classes! Add caption

Today we began building onto that base we built last week, and adding clay. You have to add quite a thick layer of clay to the model in order to be able to carve into it to model effectively.

Today was the first week of sculpting. This was basically creating the base to build upon. We needed to give the milliput time to set over the week.

After reading week, we are working on analogue sculpting with the view to developing our digital 3D modelling process digitally by gaining experience of its analogue counterpart. Before we begin this however, we have to select a character to model within this project. Below were my initial, and then final intended characters for modelling. Pting - Doctor Who Jinx - League of Legends Poison Ivy - DC universe Racnoss - Doctor Who Weeping angel - Doctor Who  Judoon - Doctor Who  These we my initial ideas of what I could have potentially sculpted, however the character I have decided upon is Madame Vastra, a Silurian from Doctor Who. I feel that this will be a useful character to model as she has overall human features, with additional characteristics based on the reptile side of the species.
