@Alan Proposed analogue sculpting reference

Image
After reading week, we are working on analogue sculpting with the view to developing our digital 3D modelling process digitally by gaining experience of its analogue counterpart. Before we begin this however, we have to select a character to model within this project. Below were my initial, and then final intended characters for modelling. Pting - Doctor Who Jinx - League of Legends Poison Ivy - DC universe Racnoss - Doctor Who Weeping angel - Doctor Who  Judoon - Doctor Who  These we my initial ideas of what I could have potentially sculpted, however the character I have decided upon is Madame Vastra, a Silurian from Doctor Who. I feel that this will be a useful character to model as she has overall human features, with additional characteristics based on the reptile side of the species.

So this project turned out to be a little more challenging for me than I had expected. It took me a while to get my head around exactly what this project was asking, and to move away from the more illustrative style that comes naturally to me, however I'm largely very happy with my finished product. There are bits that I intend to go back and neaten or fix little issues with, but I feel that the overall concept is there.

Life drawing 4/2/19

Image
This week we worked with Robin, posing along to sound tracks of famous movies. This was really fun and gave some very interesting outcomes. I decided to work exclusively digitally this week in order to develop this skill. Each of these drawings was relatively fast, so I didn’t manage to get the overall finish that I would have liked, however it was a very good excersise.

Infographic sequence tests

Image
Following last week’s session, and a conversation with Alan, I decided to create some GIFs to help me to visualise how the sequences might work. All of these files have the separate moving parts on different layers so they can be taken as photoshop files directly into after effects.

Mudbox still life scene 1

Image
We have been working on a still life scene modeled in Mudbox, which we would then render in Maya. Last week this file was working without issues. This week however, I am unable to open it. Simon has worked on this with me and we have been unable to reach a solution. So I have decided to restart, but have uploaded the rough render I took last week below. Now to make a whole new scene. More soon!
